Quash Them!!
Wow! I have to re-read your blog cos' I can't believe these 4 "heavenly kings" are only P1 !!! Quash them to... @#$^&!!! HaHa...
Ok, problem solving time... If you think your colleagues are not able to listen to you, why don't you find your HOD, P or VP? Since you are a new teacher, you always have the access to a "not able to handle these kids well since I'm new!" LICENCE! Don't be afraid to tell them. After all, from the way you described, they really sound like some kind of monster released from the other part of the universe! I think even senior teachers will have a terrible time handling them! Find out what kind of a person your P is. If her mentality is "Ai Xin Jiao Yu", then try to work that way too. But I tell you, most of my old colleagues hate this kind, cos' when you spare the rod, you spoil the kids!
To those kids who try to harm their classmates, leave them to sit alone. Tell them the consequences of their actions in the most scariest and exaggerating way after scolding them! This works for me! I once told them the consequences of him pinching his classmate- I told this boy "the part you pinched will swell, then it will turn so red till your blood will ooze out. Then your classmate will have to be sent to the hospital. In the end, if it doesn't cure, you will lose your classmate, your classmate's parents will come after you!" They are so scared now that they don't dare do anything harmful in class!
To those kids who stand up and walk to you, tie them to their chair! Nope, just joking lah... try telling them in a nice way that that's not right. If they still don't listen, just ignore them the next time they try to get your attention. Soon, they will find you not fun to attract their attention anymore and their actions will fade away.......
But always remember these matters :
1)Don't beat them! No use getting ourselves into trouble. If they still don't think, then just ignore them. Anyway, Kexin, if we teach don't well, we still get paid!I'm not trying to discourage you from moulding the next generation of well-brought up beings, just that sometimes we need to think for ourselves too. We don't need to bring more problem to our lives when we already have so much of them right!?
2)Don't be frightened by them! Show them who is the boss in the class! Once they know, they will obey you! Don't cry in front of them! Not very use! Maybe the P5 or P6(not the whole class) will sympathize with you.
If all things fail...go back to point 1. We still get paid every month no matter how these brats torture our lives. Try to pretend you are angry, after all, they are just kids! Small kids! We can just "Fen Si" them so easily, and throw them into the Kallang River! HaHa...Don't need to become angry unnecessarily. Not worth it man!
